Capitalist realism also stems from eurocentricism. It's true that both eurocentrcism and capitalist realism are products of relentless propaganda but most westerners who don't deny the humanity of the periphery are more likely to see how the various socialist experiments work and how so many of the flaws can be traced back to a constant fight for survival against the relentless onslaught from the imperial powers.
Even Mark Fisher in the Capitalist Realism book wrote some bullshit about "soviet bureaucracy". I don't remember exactly but it had something to do with the education system in England so it was completely out of the left field.
