Read posts still showing with "Show Read Posts" setting turned off (lemm.ee)

It appears the recent update broke this too. All my read posts are still showing despite having "Show Read Posts" turned off. I've tried turning it on, reloading, and turning it off, clearing cookies, clearing cache, etc. Seems to be something on the server side.
