It seems like there is an issue with the upgrade from Lemmy version 0.18.5 to 0.19.2 where the old login cookies are not accepted any longer and right now the only way to fix it is to manually delete the old cookies for slrpnk.net from your browser storage and log in again.
For Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Manage Data... > Deleting Slrpnk.net
For Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Third-party cookies > See all site data and permissions > Search for slrpnk.net > Click trashcan icon
For Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > manage and delete cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data > Search for Slrpnk.net > Click little 'v' dropdown arrow > Click trashcan icon
Edit: the Lemmy devs identified the issue and it will require another bugfix release that will hopefully happed soon.
If you are using an app like Jerboa, you have to explicitly log out and in again for it to work.
@poVoq I'm viewing and responding to this from Mastodon because I can't get into the server even after clearing cookies. I would never have seen the announcement otherwise.
i'm still getting an error message at the main page. Same goes for the xmpp side where it says invalid username and password.
xmpp login should be fixed.
@poVoq Thanks. I just got back into the chat. Otherwise, things aren't consistently working even after deleting cookies. usual browser got to log-in page but reads as invalid log-in as do some of my mobile apps
I needed to close all tabs and windows open to slrpnk.net, clear my cookies for the site, and then go back to it to log in. If you still have a tab open, the cookies don't stay cleared.
@silence7 Thanks for the tip. It's still giving me issues with the browser I usually use but a different browswer worked so i guess i just have to keep clearing cookies and logging out of apps / back in until i can find a better way
@silence7 even when i get to a log-in page from my usual browser it says incorrect log-in which isn't true and some client apps either can't log out or can't log in so it's gonna take a while to get me fully back with this it seems and it's pretty frustrating
