G'day! A colleague of mine is getting rid of her late mother's things and needs to get rid of the commode chair and other disability aid/older persons aid type items, but is finding a lot of charities and op shops won't take it. Does anyone know of any place that takes them? They've been cleaned, sanitized etc and she doesn't want to just chuck them away.
Rotary Clubs in a few different locations are looking for donations of used equipment so maybe she can contact the one closest. ie. This one is in Keilor but there's the same deal in Prahran etc. https://www.rotarykeilor.org.au/stories/medical-equipment-reissue-project
This place might accept them https://getaboutmobility.com.au/blogs/news/where-to-donate-disability-equipment-near-me
This place sounds keen. https://activerehab.net.au/help-us-help-others-by-donating-your-preloved-equipment/
Other alternatives are approaching churches or using a site like Givit. https://www.givit.org.au/donate-items https://www.givit.org.au/whats-needed
That's awesome Melba thankyou, I'll pass it on.
Facebook marketplace? I had a wheely adjustable over bed tray table thingy for sale and was inundated with people wanting it.
I think she wants to just drop the things off at a charity but I'll pass on your suggestion, thankyou.
Try nursing homes.
That sounds like a suitable option for her, I'll pass it on. Thankyou.
