Breaking Windows to let the penguin in...

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I've switched from Mint just half a year ago and I'm a professional Linux server admin, Linux Mint works great!
I recommend either the official Steam client or Heroic Games Launcher if you have GOG or Epic games instead, both have better UX.
Seriously, don't feel pressured to do so, Linux Mint is a truly great and stable distro. If you switch, do so because some distro feels like a better choice, not because you feel you should switch to something more traditional. Debian is not really the best experience on desktop, can't speak for Suse.
Great suggestion on the Heroic Games Launcher, my only hang up here is that I'm a WoW player. To the best of my very limited Linux knowledge, Lutris is the "best" way to get WoW working under Linux.
That said, I do really love the UX of HGL.
Yeah, probably, though from what I remember from the times when I played WoW (like 16 years ago), it worked really well even back then on pure Wine. But yeah, if someone made an install script for Lutris, why not.
For GOG and Epic, HGL is the best. I somewhere also have a shell script for launching EA desktop if you have any games there.
