Basically, title.

Just started playing Elite Dangerous again and saw someone using their voice to control the game. When I looked into it, they were using VoiceAttack but they were on Windows. I would love to use VoiceAttack or similar alternative for gaming. Looked just about everywhere (Reddit, YouTube, etc.) but the only thing I found was an archived thread on Reddit that seemed promising but it has been deleted (post was 4 years old).

Welcome back and o7, Commander!

I have never been able to get VA working on Linux. I've learned to play without it -- much as I've learned to play without eddb.io (RIP). There are some funky solutions involving VMs and passthrough that I've stumbled across before, but nothing that I've been willing to try worked well.

It’s a shame really. It’s not critical for gameplay but it would have been a great immersive experience.
