Someone listed this as the NES's worst box art and I think they couldn't be more wrong. It has that vintage TTRPG charm and its pretty accurate to the game.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the artist. Please share if you know.

I love the art. Just like you said, it really evokes amateur TTRPG cover art from around the same time.
