modding comms is such a thankless job fr, like 99% of people are just completely fine people to deal with but occasionally you have some absolute freak just completely go off on you about something.
like, I had some guy get mad at me for deleting a comment he made for excessive hostility towards someone and then temp banning him bcs i found him posting a transphobic slur on his account while vibe checking him, so he decided to spend the next week replying to accounts on the comm i was modding accusing them of all being sockpuppets of me, repeatedly report spamming misogynistic slurs, dming me to rant at me and stuff, and ban evading with half a dozen different accounts to tell me I "gave a bad name to all trans people" and then he did the exact same thing again like three months later on a different comm i mod in response to some article i posted about homophobic laws in kansas being passed, after that he got permanently banned from the entirety of blahaj by Ada i think.
Yo, I saw that thing transpire! That guy was wild.
My worst experience as a mod was on a fairly large gaming discord server. I saw things I never wanted to see, including incredibly inappropriate behavior toward minors. Eventually I had to stop doing that for my own well-being.
