Alright, cards on the table, I'm not a conservative. I'm just curious.
I imagine this really doesn't change anything for those of you who were already planning to vote for Trump, is that accurate?
I peaked over at reddits conservative... And this verdict has not only not dissuaded them... But has emboldened them. This "proves" we are in a Banana Republic and that the system is against trump
So we have:
Keep in mind that there are 3 more trials left. Also that Cohen already spent 3 years in jail for helping Trump commit this exact crime.
What is more likely? That almost entire world (including 12 jurors that were vetted by his defense) set against him and decided to lie and cheat to get an innocent man convicted, or that he maybe it is just him who lies and cheats?
So the major thread they have to hang on is that these would normally be misdemeanors not Felonies. But the NY DA made them felonies due the timing of the election cycle back when this happened as it could have damaged Trumps campaign. IANAL.
NPR Politics Podcast did a good explanation of this appeal and forecasted this is the most likely appeal. That and the botched juror instructions.
Unfortunately, Cohen was charged federally for different crimes. Don't get me work Trump should go to jail. But, Cohen wasn't charged with the same crime.
That's more or less a big part of what I was expecting. I've got a few dyed-in-the-wool MAGAs in my life to base that off of.
I'm not a conservative - but I'm still voting for him. Very obvious what they are doing here.
So has this trial persuaded you to vote for him?
I was going to vote for him anyways. It's very obvious some of these misdemeanors were upgraded to felonies only because he's Trump.
do you find that as a representative of Family Values(tm) his affair with Stormy Daniels sets a good example for the families of our bestest nation and that his Competent Leadership(tm) of committing business fraud to cover it up makes him a trustworthy leader?
This doesn't rank high in my priorities. You'll need to ask an actual conservative - Trump and I aren't conservatives.
Though, I'm thinking you're a bad faith jackass looking through your comments and the sarcastic approach to your questioning.
Are you really out here trying to own the MAGAs? Lmao
That's a lot of words to not answer either question. You don't have to be conservative to have some opinion on families and I would imagine anyone voting for somebody would be able to answer why they think their candidate was competent.
I explained why. And you're not asking in good faith either.
People vote on certain issues and the ones you mentioned aren't interesting to me. And competency is only your opinion. You hate people who are voting for Trump so why are you pretending like you really care to know the answers to these questions?
So just say you think he's competent despite all evidence.
I don't hate people who vote for trump, I just have little respect for them because I've failed to meet one that isn't a fearful, hateful person. This is your opportunity to explain yourself and you keep responding which says you want to address ... something.
Either way, my motivation here is curiosity. Answer, don't answer, but I will keep poking until you decide its not worth your time to keep waffling.
So just say you think he's competent despite all evidence.
You're conflating two separate points I made because naturally, you cannot fathom why "Family Values" isn't interesting to me, but I understand why you did it.
Explain myself for what? I'm not a conservative. You used ™ in your snarky post because you assumed I was a conservative - because those are their values .
I'm responding to you only because I know you're being disingenuous. So why are you pretending like you actually care?
If you're going to spend all this time, lets just hear your answers.
You've repeatedly said "issues", plural. Lets give you the benefit of the doubt, assume its an error and you're not a liar who is such a coward about sharing their opinion they would rather accuse people repeatedly of responding in bad faith to poison the discussion than answer a simple pair of snarky questions honestly.
I can spend my time addressing how disingenuous you are.
You searched through this sub to find someone to answer your snarky questions. If you were being sincere, I don't think you would ask in the way you did.
Again, why pretend you're actually interested in having a civil discourse when you started off on the wrong foot? And you clearly picked the wrong person since I'm not a conservative as what you asked are conservative values.
Perhaps you should rethink how you approach others with political disagreements next time. Cause this sounds like a skill issue on your part.
No, I got my answer: You're a coward. You find it safer to address tone than answering a challenging question. Its okay, child, the mean, disingenious person will stop bothering you and hurting your fee fees with snark.
Good coping, jackass. You were looking for a gotcha moment and instead got egg on your face.
The conversation didn't go the direction you wanted to. I'm sorry you feel that way. You don't have the intellectual maturity to engage in good faith conversations and that's something you need to sort out yourself.
Thanks for responding!
