Big brain tech dude got yet another clueless take over at HackerNews etc? Here's the place to vent. Orange site, VC foolishness, all welcome.

fuck this is so target-rich for sneers I can’t decide what to focus on. all the high profile companies’ boards Sammy’s been asked to leave due to massive conflicts of interest? the revolving door of fucking worthless startups (hello Humane AI pin) the WSJ trots out without question? the tacit admission that the only thing that’ll stop LLM bullshit from burning the planet is a breakthrough in nuclear fucking fusion?
If this is what it takes for them to put more than the current perfunctory technically-not-mothballed amounts of money into nuclear fusion I'm going to laugh-cry into my pillow.
I'm sure you can pitch using AI to design fusion reactors to these folk. Then all you need to do is to use the avalanche of VC capital to fund engineers and physicists who will be providing the "training data"...
they won't, and even if they do it'll dry out after a year or two when they run out of hype
