Courts wouldn't be involved if it hadn't been so close, so yes it was vote related

this can't be proven. courts may have become involved anyway, for some other reason. you can't prove a counterfactual.

OK sure but thy point is the reason they were involved is the vote was so close, meaning that wasted votes did matter very much
