I want to play this game so so badly. The 19th century gothic theme, hack n slash play style and intriguing storyline are all right up my alley. But after spending 3 hours getting no further than the section past the first mob at the bomb-fire… I just can’t do it. I work full time and don’t have it in me to sink hours into a game, getting no where story progression wise.I’m not particularly good at video games. I can count the amount of games I’ve played through to completion on one hand. Ocarina of time, breath of the wild, kingdom hearts 1,2,3 and Alice madness returns (favourite game). My question is, are there any suggestions for games like bloodborne that are easier to play? Gothic/horror theme, TP view, melee weapon options, good story?

I'm not good with Soulsborne games either, though I like them anyway. I'd single out Elden Ring as one where you can do exceptionally much of exploring and character building without facing particular enemies or areas. Only attacking the hard problems when you're more experienced and equipped.

There are some traps and it's still not exactly easier, but it may be worth a mention.

I'll also say Nier Automata and perhaps Shadow of the Colossus outside the genre.
