I grew up hearing "western shirt", another term was a Miller Shirt as that was the popular brand. But then it had to have pearl snaps. I expect flannel shirts have buttons.

Well I asked about it, and they meant “western suburbs” so I was like ..ohh snap!

They are clearly not western suburbs natives. Anyone who is would know the official uniform is adidas, hoodies, and fancy sneakers.
