CNN’s contributions
(lemmy.ca)
App that allows you to see the political or non-political affiliations of american businesses and celebrities.
Enter a company name. And the app will tell you the political donations made by the company and its senior employees. See information on Apple, Walmart, Patagonia, Koch, AARP, New Balance, Starbucks, AT&T and thousands more!
The app has information on clothing brands, home goods, cars, restaurants, universities, sports teams, and much more. You can also debate politics with other users.
So much for CNN being "liberal media"!
Is this one surprising to people?
It is unfortunately. I've been trying to spread the word that CNN was bought by Trump supporters back in 2022. Still surprises quite a few people.
Bought out a few years ago
Nope saw this one coming a km away.
The Biden team apparently
Isn't this chart reporting how people who watch CNN donated?
Look at that community you're in.
Can you explain how that answers my question?
By looking at the community description you would see that this community is dedicated to an app which tracks the political spending of corporations or celebrities. Since the post is a screenshot of that app, and that app is dedicated to tracking the spending of corporations and celebrities, your original question would be fully answered and accompanied by an enriched appreciation for the diversity of communities on Lemmy.
Make sense?
Ah, I can't see the community description on the app. I thought that the site tracked the political contributions of the companies, but someone a couple days ago said that it's actually tracking the political contributions of their customers. That seems like a much harder thing to track, and counterintuitive, but now I'm not sure which is accurate.
Don't believe what that person said, and don't believe what I said. This is easily resolved by just looking up the app in question in the app store or online and reading their own description of their app.
This is one of the more odd conversations I've had on here in a while.
Okay, thanks
