Ugh, I wish the "clean food" craze would die.

https://www.michigandaily.com/opinion/columns/clean-eating-is-classist-at-its-core/

Edit: Article doesn't mention clean, that was just my brain inserting it.

Edit edit: the heat is messing with me. It is in the subtitle

It's not you. Lemmy quoted the title as "Clean eating guide: The 35 Healthiest [...]"

[-] Vodulas@beehaw.org 1 points 4 months ago

Thanks. My brain is not at it's best right now, apparently

I probably shouldn't dunk on a student newspaper opinion piece, but what's the proposal here? For rich people to avoid healthy eating in solidarity?

[-] Vodulas@beehaw.org 10 points 4 months ago

Just stop using "clean." It implies other foods are dirty, and adds an element of shame. Some people don't have the option

Just stop using "clean."

Um, ok, done.

The article doesn't use the word "clean." Your first comment is the one to introduce the term into the thread.

Ah, you are right. Not sure why I read the title as eating clean.

Edit: it is in the subtitle

Huh, weird. I believe you, but I don't see it when I load the page (Lemmy sync, Firefox on Android), in either desktop or mobile mode. Maybe the server is doing something with different browsers/environments.
