Yes, go. Go tell them. Go tell the newbies what actually happened to splinter the anime meme community.
Weeblet: "What's the joke? It's just a femboy, right?"
Weeb: "Yes, but...!"
Weeblet: "So? There are plenty of anime femboys around. What's funny about this?"
Weeb: "You see, some may think it's a girl and it makes them horny, but actually, it's not!"
Weeblet: "So the joke is just that it's a feminine-looking guy?"
Weeb: "No-no, the joke is based on the surprise that the character isn't who they expected it to be!"
Weeblet: "So the joke is that the character is like a trap? Like it's an unexpected discovery that traps horny weebs into thinking it's a girl but actually it's a guy?"
Weeb: "NOOO!!! DON'T SAY IT! YOU'RE GONNA GET US BOTH BANNED!"
Weeblet: "Wha-?"

As usual, don't go around brigading / harrassing other subs. It's just ironic that a character which was famous (not for being a femboy, but for being a trap) ends up on the front page of the very subreddit which saw a civil war over the right to call that character what they were famous for.

Yeah /r/animemes banned "trap" because the connotation is someone trying to trick someone like "haha you fool, I have a dick, you're gay now!" which when applied to trans girls is generally offensive. Cue a bunch of anti mod/anti censorship sentiment.
That's the tl:dr but here's a SRD writeup if you care enough to read several paragraphs about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/SubredditDrama/comments/i4lccv/ranimemes_2day_update_userbase_does_not/
