It is very bare bones, but there's a lot of room to extend its functionality in future work. So let me know what you think!
Android app
Some of you don't want to use Google Play to download the Android app, which is totally understandable! Now, the compiled app is automatically uploaded to Github Releases so you can use a tool like Obtainium - or download directly and update yourself. I'm also working on F-droid support! :)
Oh, and thanks to all of those who have reviewed the app in the Play Store!
iOS app
Fingers crossed on app store release soon! I've been dutifully making changes for App Review.
Donations
Thank you very much to those that have donated. It really helps! What does your donation go towards?
- Coffee
- Recurring development costs, including $50/mo Ionic Appflow, vger.app hosting/domain fees, Apple Developer account
- I just picked up a Pixel for development purposes (before I was using a TCL 20xe which was... not great)
- I'm planning on attending Ioniconf this fall for fun/learning/networking, and donations will definitely help offset that
This is a feature I have really been looking forward to! Very excited for it. I really like the implementation of the link markdown button. When you highlight something then press the button, the text goes in the brackets, and the space in the parentheses is highlighted so you can easily paste the link in. Very nice!
I do have a question about the Android app. Is that linked to any specific "instance" of voyager? For example, I have a voyager container running on my server, which I can access via voyager.dandroid.app. Is the compiled app loading an instance of voyager somewhere like that one, or is it all running on the phone itself?
All running on the phone!
Awesome! Thanks for the info. So I think it is safe to stop that container, since the compiled app works a little better for me, and I can update directly from GitHub instead of waiting for the Play Store to update.
