Ok so I have my starting gear and two 500lb barrels of mayonnaise

That's okay, you're a bard so that's just your instrument

[–] MantisTobogganMD@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

We don't have encumbrance until you make me give you encumbrance. That's how it works.

You get encumbrance quick lol

[–] Zoomboingding@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's a great way to run it tbh

It's worked out so far. I don't find counting lbs to make sure you're under a weight limit fun, but I also don't want people carrying around 5000lb of random shit. This has been my solution.

Sometimes that's how you get Old Man Henderson.

I've not heard of Old Man Henderson before, so thanks for prompting me to read this lmao.

I ritualistically begin every character sheet with an 10-foot ladder in my pack.

I always have to justify it about a million games later but it's my favorite ridiculous thing to carry.

Just say it's gnomish and he made a teloscopic one.

Like so (26 ft)

I mean, just claim its a rope ladder, only good for going down, or a good grapple throw to go up.

Why stop at 10? Surely a 20' a-frame would be more useful. :)

The most memorable time was when I was playing a Blickish (see also; halfling) and the ladder was taller than me by more than double. I said it was collapsible! It stuck up over my head and my pack was lashed to it!

The ensuing chaos of people fighting for and against this information was highly entertaining.

Nice. Never leave home without your tactical ladder:

This is exactly what I had in mind!!

I saved this pic. Thank you!

* You feel your sins crawling on your back.

That’s alright, I have no conscience so I’m not weighed down.

Well, well, well. If it isn't the consequences of my own actions.
