School days. Kids won’t wake up until the last second.

Weekends they eject from bed at 7am. Same sleep schedule. What gives.

Or when you have a late night and the kids go down an hour after their bedtime.

Do they wake up an hour later? No, they wake up an hour before their normal wakeup time.

it might be that school fucking sucks and makes kids feel gray inside

whereas weekends leave them free to experience actual joy
