Have you tried 30 to 40 olives? you surely won't regret eating 30 to 40 olives.

[–] Window_Error_Noises@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I recommend pairing 30 to 40 olives with a glass of whiskey type alcohol. A common dinner of my late 20s, and now the snack/dinner of my aging 30s... You surely won't regret it. ...won't regret it... ...regret it... ◕_◕

[–] metaStatic@kbin.earth 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Did someone say Dirty Martini?

[–] Master@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Without the vermouth this is not as good as you think... just vodka and olives olive juice is mildly disgusting. Not enough to pour it out but enough that you dont it again the same week.

[–] metaStatic@kbin.earth 1 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

did I say drop the vermouth?

also, vermouth is filth and you should totally drop the vermouth.

[–] Jyrdano@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

I have yet to regret eating 30 to 40 olives.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 26 points 11 months ago (3 children)

OR (hear me out), how about an entire sleave of saltine crackers?

[–] paraphrand@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

[–] Zamotic@lemmy.zip 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Saltines are so boring. I would definitely prefer a sleeve of Thin Mints, Oreos/Hydrox, or chocolate chip cookies!

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 11 months ago

Ehh, chocolate makes my throat feel sticky. Saltines just make me thirsty.

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Are you calling me out? This has (so far) been my dinner.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 11 months ago

Saltines are delicious

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago

Handful of cereal chased by milk straight from the jug. Repeat until I've consumed more than I would have if I'd just had a bowl.

[–] Damage@feddit.it 10 points 11 months ago (1 children)

They also make cheese in unshredded variants

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago (3 children)

But where’s the fun in that? I want to enjoy my cheese confetti.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago

Make America Grate Again

[–] Sylvartas@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Because then you get to cut very thin slices because it's kind of fun to do and they sort of melt on your tongue, and surely that way you won't eat as much as if you were eating "normal-sized" slices, right ?

Cut to me staring at a plate filled with hundreds of tiny pieces of cheese crust, who obviously ate the entire fucking block of cheese in one sitting

[–] Portosian@sh.itjust.works 1 points 11 months ago

Counterpoint: The little wheel and wire thing that shaves off bits of cheese is deeply satisfying to use

[–] JATtho@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago (3 children)

I have an unusual problem, and i'm too light for my height. The weird is that I'm already eating butter, cheese, cookies, pizza etc. All the guilty calories. (Except icecream which I somehow don't like wtf.) So i'm on a quest to pound more. I somehow just burn it all puff - gone, on top of eating a meal twice a day.

[–] BoxerDevil@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I don't often find a harmless comment that I absolutely despise.

[–] JATtho@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

What do you mean? I'm actually worried of my cookie, cheese wheel and bun supply isn't enough... Gotta eat more, the cells ain't happy.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 5 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (2 children)

"Haha I eat what I want when I want and it doesn't stop me from being tall and thin- wait why is everyone jealous?!?!??"

I find that most people with this mindset don't think their habit of cross country marathons and rockclimbing is worth mentioning in context.

[–] JATtho@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I actually don't have a exceptional physical strenght/fitness, and a 1km walk is too long. I honestly have no idea why I have this "issue", and it worries me. I mosty sit programming and watching Youtube, so either the brain or the occacional heavy use of legs burns it all. (I burnt 2kg of my weight while on a festival this year... Drinking beer and electrolytes.. And my 2nd priority was to eat there. o__O)

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 2 points 11 months ago

The reality is that everyone's metabolism is basically the same, unless they have a parasite or metabolic disorder. If it actually worries you, track your calorie intake exactly for a month or two.

If you're taking in 3k a day and still losing weight, yeah, there's something going on and you should consider asking a doctor.

If your definition of forcing yourself to eat is 1.5k a day you just have a low appetite. Enjoy?

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Stop speaking. Just... Goddamn.

[–] MunkysUnkEnz0@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Same here, I have an overactive thyroid gland slash grave disease. Have your thyroid tested?

[–] CheddarBiscuits@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago (2 children)
[–] HappycamperNZ@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

Im not, it's always cheese

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 11 months ago

Me too…. Though its been a minute since ive done egregious things as snacks in the wee hours

[–] captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works 4 points 11 months ago

~~spoon~~ celery stick of peanut butter.

[–] MunkysUnkEnz0@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Awesome, I don't feel like a weirdo. Not that I cared. But I'll wake up at 3 a.m. and eat peanut butter, Drizzled with honey.

[–] shuzuko@midwest.social 2 points 11 months ago

Peanut butter honey toast is the best goddamn snack

I am literally eating it right now as I type this and could not be happier

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

Which did you choose? Peanut butter with a glass of whole milk would be my choice. Or perhaps some carbonated water, various cheeses, grapes, and crackers.

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

It’s always the cheese.

[–] weker01@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago

I'm here hungry at 3am... What am I doing with my life. I feel like 3am is the most philosophical hour of the day

[–] p5yk0t1km1r4ge@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

How Dare you call me out

[–] bss03@infosec.pub 2 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

I asked Google AI and it recommended spackle instead of either. It sticks to the ribs.

[–] skye@lemmy.world -3 points 11 months ago (3 children)

Why would anyone go through the torment that is a spoonful of peanut butter? I'd rather eat sand

[–] pearsaltchocolatebar@discuss.online 20 points 11 months ago (1 children)

You're missing out, but more peanut butter for me.

[–] skye@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

good trade honestly

[–] GBU_28@lemm.ee 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Good quick protein snack (not that there aren't better/others, but it's relatively cheap, relatively healthy, and relatively high in protein compared to other snacks)

[–] skye@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I get that, I just don't understand how can someone eat a spoonful of it. The peanut butter i had made me feel like im going to choke to death

[–] GBU_28@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

I only eat some at a time. Like...one big spoonful is multiple "bites".

[–] bss03@infosec.pub 4 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

I'm clutching this jar of chunky JIF like a life preserver. Protein ends depression, didn't you know.
