Of course he took a $10m bribe.

Usually presidents make deals over trade agreements worth many billions.

Not trump. $10m and he's anyones girl.

Politicians are cheap whores, and can be bought for the cost of a mid-range mountain bike. It's pathetic how little some have been ~~bribed~~ lobbied for.

Lock him up

[-] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 25 points 3 months ago

Now can we charge him with treason?

[-] Maggoty@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

According to SCOTUS he's immune.

[-] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Not if he did that before he became president.

[-] Maggoty@lemmy.world 11 points 3 months ago

Oh they'll figure a way

His whole life is part of his official acts in his brief stint as president, and so he's immune

That seems depressingly low.

If he didn't report it it is

Sorry, campaigning is official presidential business and therefore immune from criminal liability. /s

Damn, he really sold himself out for 10m. Isnt he supposedly a billionaire?

Egyptian here curious as to how the fuck our government casually gave away 10 billion dollars.

They're load shedding (cutting off power) for hours every day because "the state can't afford it"

Edit: oh, it's 10 million. Still, that's 55 million Egyptian pounds

The investigation was closed under former Attorney General William Barr, a Trump loyalist who reportedly questioned whether there was sufficient evidence to continue the probe, which has not been renewed under Attorney General Merrick Garland

Such naked corruption.

I can't imagine that's enough to turn trump. He's turned by default though.
