The great API revamping really fucked reddit up. Their admins were incompetent, and then the purge of moderators who protested the API change brought even worse mods into the fold.

The loss of RiF, the loss of Push Shift for both archival searching and tracking trolls was such a loss.

Every other comment is a corporate shill pushing a product..."promoted content" AKA ads...ai troll bots...at least Lemmy is now big enough to get some help/insight on relatively obscure/complex topics now.

Everyone that deletes their account and/or deletes all their comments/posts gives them lower numbers and less content for Google AI to scrape. It's marginal but it's real
