Worlds longest water slide. That's how gravity works right?

Saskatchewanians will only allow this if we're allowed to directly pump oil into it ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Ah for just one time, I would take the Northwest passage to the sea.

Westward from the Potomac, t'is there t'was said to lie The sea route to the orient for which so many died

God I love his songs.

Goddamn them all! I was told

We'd sail the seas for American gold

We'd fire no guns, shed no tears!

Now I'm a broken man in a Halifax pier

The last of Barrett's privateers

It's been six years since we sailed away, and I just made Halifax yesterday! God damn them all!

Turning West Virginia into a lake would be quite a benefit.

[-] IzzyJ@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago

Cant find a Northwest Passage? Make one!

[-] whitecapstromgard@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 year ago

One could make the case that the loss of West Virginia is a benefit in itself.

[-] doingthestuff@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

There is some fine white water rafting there though. I don't know what else, it's the only reason I've ever gone there. Nice curvy backroads too.

Sounds like you should speak with Robert Evans (not the director, the journalist) of Behind the Bastards, he wants to nuke the great lakes, so may as well tie your plan into his.

I miss the bagel throwing days

[-] ComradePorkRoll@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

Today's episode had the happiest of endings.

[-] drcobaltjedi@programming.dev 1 points 1 year ago

I usually wait till he's finished a topic before binging the whole topic. Was it only a 2 parter?

[-] ComradePorkRoll@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

It ended up being a filler episode.

[-] Nails@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

[-] XTornado@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

I bet there is oil in the Arctic, and OP is actually the US government. This is our future sheeple!!! Wake up!!!

[-] odium@programming.dev 11 points 1 year ago

I mean, there is oil in Alaska. Lots of it.

[-] PickTheStick@ttrpg.network 3 points 1 year ago

Shoot, one of Alaska's biggest northern settlements, if not the biggest, is an oil work camp. Look up Deadhorse / Prudhoe Bay. The road up there is totally worth taking if you're into birdwatching or really rugged roughing it.

[-] JohnDClay@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 year ago

Should be pretty easy! I hear digging canals with nukes is a great idea!

Could use that spinlaunch thing to skip a fucking massive flat stone across America
