Hi everybody, just checking in to see if there's anything like the subject is requesting.

I really love the pinterest back in the day, but it's privacy abuses are obscene.

And I just want to know if anybody is aware of anything that is a better option for someone who's more privacy focused.

Thank you so much.

Looks interesting thank you. The last commit was 2 years ago, which concerns me. I'll still check it out.

Pixelfed should be in your mix to check out.

Which features are most important to you? Search/discovery, categorization, tagging, sharing...?

These days I usually just search the web for images and save them to folders on my computer. I have the folders synced to my cloud storage, so I can access them from any computer if I want to.

What even is Pinterest? I see people using it as social media, but I never got what it was for. Isn't it just an image hosting site like Imgur? Or is it more like Instagram?

Image hosting site like imgur with discoverability features like Instagram. I hate it cause it spams so many mails and notifications but it's a good site to find rare good looking images(easily searchable)

afaik there's no one... The best you can do is to use the web instead of the app , better with Firefox + Ublock

One could self host Binternet, a open source front end for Pinterest but it's pretty useless without the Pinterest discoverability features. It's good if you constantly open pinterest links and hate the UI.
