I think we need more open source launchers, especially traditional ones.

I recommend Lawnchair!

I can recommend KISS Launcher :) it's available on f-droid

Will leave this one here in case anyone wants a look. A launcher called Neo Launcher, very smooth and customizable one.

That hasn't been updated in two years. Seems kinda dead if you ask me.

Which is a shame because I used to use that and it was great!

Could you add just one or two screenshots please?

Lots of screenshots on Google Play and F-Droid pages, which are linked to from the gitlab.

[-] exu@feditown.com 1 points 3 months ago

Thanks, I didn't check those, but then there's even less reason to not have some screenshots in the repo imo

A list of features would be nice.

Is the calendar widget part of the launcher for example?

Seems great. Not really for me, but hey, I'm just glad it's not yet another goddamn "minimalist" launcher, i.e. ones that're basically just glorified apps lists.

I'd personally love more launchers that use a tiling system, with built-in clock and/or weather widget.

Kind of like Focus Launcher with the Arcticons icon theme but, you know, with less moon and more grid.

The Ion launcher for TI-83 calculators has existed since 1999. Why did the Android port take so long? /s

This looks neat. It'll be sweat it it could get

  • tap gestures (double tap -> launch app)
  • Use app shortcuts as icons in pins (My apps shortcut instead of play store app)
  • lock desktop mode

Will use this instead of Neo for a few days to see how it goes.

Is everything supposed to be black and white? Also, how does one access the purported customisability? I can't seem to find a settings option anywhere, and the readme.me is just a vague list of selling points.

Edit: NVM, figured it out. For anyone else wondering, long press on the desktop and select "Tweaks" from the menu that pops up.
