Threads, Instagram's messaging app, has added a new Following feed that shows posts only from accounts that a user follows. This was a highly requested feature from users. To access the Following feed, users tap the home icon or Threads logo at the top of the app. However, when reopening the app, it reverts back to the default For You feed, so users must remember to switch to the Following feed. The update also added translation features, allowing users to translate posts by tapping a button. The launch of Threads originally only had a For You feed based on algorithm recommendations, so the Following feed is a welcome addition for users wanting a curated feed.

There was so much garbage in my feed it was unusable at launch. I'm glad they changed their mind.

Still wild to me that this feature was missing in the first place.

Right? I haven’t signed up for Threads, but I definitely wouldn’t want a feed of random stuff the algorithm wants to show me, instead of people I actually want to follow.

Yeah, you'd expect it to be one of the first things that they implement when making a project like this.

Isnt Instagram's DMs Instagram's messaging platform? This is just a new shill, not a part of an old piece

They gotta sell it somehow. "Meta's own Twitter" only worked for so long, so maybe this is part of a rebranding effort (or maybe a simple typo, who knows)
