This would be an amazing game for Steam Deck, assuming it runs well. I'm in if they hit the mark.

[-] maxprime@lemmy.ml 14 points 1 year ago

It’s not the most demanding game so I imagine it would do pretty well.

Dude it will be like 1000 fps on a steam deck

[-] kadu@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

It runs on a Switch, so it's going to be significantly better on the Deck.

Came to say exactly this! I'm excited and will likely pick it up when it's in the discount bin.

This would be an amazing game for Steam Deck

Only if your Deck is always online because that's the DRM scheme.

I know, I was playing this through console streaming from my Ally and really wished it was available natively. Great grab and go game for a couple minutes.

[-] Nutteman@lemmy.world 30 points 1 year ago

Wish they hadn't dissolved the studio so they could do 3+4 :(

[-] MeatsOfRage@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago

Right?! I'm pretty mixed on 4 but I'd argue 3 was every bit as good or better than the first two. The revert was an absolutely critical mechanic and there were some really fun levels like the neighborhood and the factory.

[-] bl4ckblooc@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

The hidden characters in 3+4 made the game so much better

As the series goes on I prefer them more and more till you get to Underground, Im not the biggest fan of Underground 2 but I like American Wasteland just as much as Underground 1. After that I fell off due to preferring Skate.

4 is my favourite of the pro skaters, if you don't count the new 1+2.

I actually really enjoyed UG2 but I’m not sure how they’ll get the rights to remake it especially with all the Viva La Bam characters.

Oh they better have the same soundtrack.

DO YOU HAVE THE TIME

[-] forkbomb@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago

This wasn’t on steam already? That’s the most amazing part of this to me.

[-] Bearigator@ttrpg.network 20 points 1 year ago

It was Epic exclusive on PC I believe

[-] CatZoomies@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Finally! I’ve been waiting for this for so long with no end in sight! I had no hope due to the Epic exclusivity and the fact that they announced that these remakes didn’t do so well on Epic, so future remakes were never green lit.

I don’t expect this to sell massively on Steam, but I’d love if it did just so we can get the next games.

This won’t be a day one buy for me (no preorders!), but I’ll definitely be picking this up for the nostalgia!

[-] RetroEvolute@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I'm right there with you. Maybe us THPS fans all just have a "fuck the man" mentality and refused to buy from Epic. Then again, this game never got cracked, either...

[-] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

Bout fuckin time. Only took what, 3 years??

[-] Psythik@lemm.ee 8 points 1 year ago

Good. Can't wait to destroy noobs in multiplayer a second time around (before they practice and get better than me like what happened the first time the game was released.)

[-] Anonymousllama@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

1 and 2 are great games. Should be top quality too on Steamdeck. Never got around to finishing the remake of 1 but one day I'll get to it lol

[-] brihuang95@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 year ago

Oh shit I completely forgot that these remakes came out. Definitely gonna cop, and then hunker down and wait for skate 4

[-] Sir_Premiumhengst@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

IT WAS OCTOBER THIRD!

What is the difference between this and Tony Hawk HD (which is already on Steam)?

[-] MeatsOfRage@lemmy.world 30 points 1 year ago

HD fuckin blows. It's a cheap remake that screwed up the physics and was mostly lifeless. It was made by the studio that made all the terrible THPS games in the late 2000s through mid 2010s. It's got a handful of levels from the first two games. It looks and feels like a mobile port.

Tony Hawk's 1 + 2 is a love letter to the original 2 games. Loaded with content and they nailed the feel. Your muscle memory of the originals carries over perfectly. It's got all the levels plus a few more. They also added in the revert from THPS3 which is sorely missing when you go back and actually play the originals.

[-] Lesrid@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

They also added in the revert from THPS3 Wow I was hoping for a 3+4 because of revert. Now I have something to look forward to next month.
