Donald Trump and the Republican Party are ditching Mark Robinson, their scandal-plagued nominee in the North Carolina governor’s race.

Robinson has been battling to keep his head above water after claims that he called himself a “Black Nazi” and made other offensive comments on a pornographic website.

But it appears the national GOP hierarchy are prepared to let him drown. The Republican Governors Association said in a statement that they are pulling Robinson’s financial support.

The GOP seems comfortable enough with Nazis, it's interesting that the Black Nazi was the tipping point....

say no to DEI Nazi

[-] EndOfLine@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago

Maybe it's because of their inherent resistance to equality?

[-] Sundial@lemm.ee 14 points 1 month ago

No, it's because they hate it when things become woke.

[-] Valmond@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

Woke Nazi.

Okay that's enough internet for today.

[-] ganksy@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

There is no tipping point. If they thought it might not be enough to sink him they would have kept backing him.

[-] synae@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 1 month ago

I doubt any of that was a real issue for them, I bet it's the now-public enthusiasm about trans porn that they couldn't stomach.

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

They say it's important that you fully accept yourself before you can accept others.

And when I say "they" I mean big men. Big, strong men on motorcycles who came up to me with tears in their eyes...

Trump called this fucker MLK on steroids

Dont sully the fucked up history of MK Ultra by comparing it to this dude. Some of the experiments were hilarious if utterly unethical.

[-] SilentStorms@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 month ago

Which is pretty funny because one of the comments Robinson made on a porn forum was saying how much he hates MLK and he calls him "Martin Lucifer C**n"

[-] fluxion@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Man, Trump sure picks some winners

[-] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 1 month ago

That's pretty accurate. He is twice as big and acting crazy from the roids. Plus, most roid users are complete assholes.

[-] takenaps@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago

But what about him is like MLK? Only that he's black?? ...

[-] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 1 month ago

What more does Trump need? You are either MLK jr or Obama.

[-] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

You mean that blind piano player that sells the grills?

[-] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 month ago

Who? Obama? Or MLK jr?

[-] barsquid@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I think Kamala recently decided to be black as well.

[-] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 month ago

He is to confused. He doesn't know people can be multiracial.

[-] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago

They're fine with his batshit insane takes on women, gays, immigrants and the poor. But they won't stand for his sullying the good name of the nazis.

[-] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

One outta two's not good enough for your crew, Marky.

[-] capital@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Another example for why I absolutely refuse to categorize people by skin color, sex, sexual preference, etc.

This guy's a fucking piece of shit no matter what color he is.

Whatdy'a say we judge politicians on their policy rather than immutable attributes?

[-] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago

Okay but can we categorize people based off their opinions on obscure cult classic Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura? Cause so far its been hilarious getting peoples reactions to it, I can also tell how poor they were based on how long theyve known about it.

[-] capital@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

.... I'll allow it.

[-] dethedrus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 month ago

Are you me?!?!

I've been evangelizing about that game to any gamer I meet, especially old sk00l Fallout fans since... I bought it in 2001 ;)

[-] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

Sadly I only found out about it due to the slavic king of OG CRPGs Warlocracy. But I did buy fallout 1 & 2 at a pawnshop in Arkansas around 2011, it was my birthday and I wanted to play them since I played New Vegas no one really wants to argue with the obsessed now twelve year old and one of my kithsmen vouched for it saying he played it when he was my age.

[-] dethedrus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 month ago

So many amazing ideas in Arcanum. Time to finally check out the various modernization patches and mods and give it a spin.

My first CRPG was also from a pawnshop! Though it was the original Wizardry in 1982 ;)

[-] barsquid@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I really liked that game. I don't know why I keep seeing it pop up but recently grabbed it again for a few bucks. The performance is absolutely godawful on Linux, hopefully I can tweak that.

I remember somehow having access to summons way overpowered from where I should have been? If memory serves, everyone who tried to start something with my character was smeared into a paste by literal demons. I never finished because I completely lost track of the quests I was supposed to do.

[-] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago

It may be easier to emulate windows xp or soemething and play it that way. It isnt particularly friendly with modern systems.

[-] samus12345@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Wouldn't want him causing a Ruckus, now would we?

[-] ArtVandelay@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

At this rate he just might cry uncle

[-] stoly@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

So there will be a Democrat in NC. Nice.

[-] OldWoodFrame@lemm.ee 5 points 1 month ago

If it puts NC in play at a presidential level, that's where it gets interesting. Only 3 fewer electoral votes than Pennsylvania, same number as Georgia. Could be a big swing.
