Alright I'm done.

The set is practiced and recorded. Time for some gigs again. I've got 20 mins worth of songs which is plenty.

Plus now I have a demo reel for band auditions which I'm going to get back into next week.

Ah man. I'm really looking forward to this. I've missed it so much.

Have a great night everyone ❤️

How is it almost 3pm. I did however accidentally figure out something for singing I've been trying to do for literal years lol

Also, the eyes say it all

Lazy Sundays are fluffybutt approved.

Which is good because I just woke up from a two hour nap.

My neighbor made this cake. Everything is edible except the doll. Simply stunning. It’s just a “hobby” lol.

There is physical health, and there is mental health. When you think about it, nearly all foods fall into one or the other category. Health is health.

Do not be tempted by the green apple candles at IKEA. They smell like burning plastic when lit.

[-] StudChud@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

Synthetic shitty candles are a recipe for scent-induced headaches 🤮

Just back from the Pharaoh. Amazing exhibition. How they did stonework like that is mindboggling. Seeing it up close was awesome.

Currently fighting off an emerging migraine. Taken panadol and nurofen.

Now all I’ve got left is to pray and maybe a heat pack on my neck/shoulders and maybe a coffee.

New pastime: leaving brutally honest feedback when companies spam you with feedback demands. Just rant at them about the unethicalness of their business models, and outline how their entire existence is essentially predicated on exploiting people in crappy circumstances.

They conveniently disappear if you leave your email :)

Great turnout at the rally today. I love going to these every week, its overstimulating as hell a bit but I feel completely safe in the crowd. All the singing and dancing and kind faces.

I feel less safe around guns which the cops were running around flaunting but hey, can't have everything.

[-] StudChud@aussie.zone 11 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I dislike you have been down voted. We are allowed to protest here, and as long as you're not a Nazi, I have no issue with it.

I also don't understand what protesting in Melbourne is going to do for the Palestinians. Aus isn't the big manufacturer of weapons being sent to Israel or Palestine. I'm not saying you should t go, I just don't get what it is trying to achieve here.

I get protesting in Britain, since they sort of set this up historically, but also wars and conflict over the holy land have been ongoing since, like, before Jesus. So. What does Australia have to do with this?

I do think there are way more Australian-relevant issues to protest - such as the rise of Nazis, cost of living, price gouging, and housing affordability, and the rights of First Nations.

I do not agree with either Hamas nor Netanyahu, I dont want innocent people to be used as collateral damage.

But again, what will protesting the war do here, in Australia, in Melbourne?

Not trying to start a fight, I just don't understand the goals.

[-] Aradina@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 month ago

The Palestinian struggle mirrors the struggle against colonialism in our country. That's why the protests always include chants of "always was always will be". Colonialism is a worldwide system after all, its not just in Palestine or Australia. It's the same struggle everywhere, and we need to fight it everywhere if we want it gone to the dustbin of history where it belongs alongside all other forms of racism.

Our government also does have the ability to pressure other governments. We have the ability to change things and improve things despite being a middle power. Even just condemning the genocide would be a massive move that could change things, it could encourage other countries to condemn it and stop exporting products that help it along.

Those other issues are issues and we should be rallying about those too. Someone just has to organise and lead it. On the Nazis, these rallies are anti-nazi too. The groups involved are broad leftist groups who are very much against Nazism and everything it stands for, like colonialism.

On top of that is just solidarity. If even one photo of the rally makes it to someone having a hard time in Palestine or Lebanon or wherever else and maybe improves their day, then every rally will have been worth it. I want it to be known that despite being on the other side of the world, I care.

"An injury to one is an injury to all." Is something I take very seriously. As long as there are oppressed people out there, none of us are free.

Also the benefit of my account being on Lemmy.ml is that down votes don't federate between instances so idk how many people downvote me, I only see one or two.

[-] StudChud@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

Makes sense to me, thank you for explaining! 🙏🏼

May we see an end to all settler colonialism and move forward to a peaceful existence with each other.

It’s a shame cinnamon toothpaste is much less common than mint. Like a couple of options exist, but I don’t buy because they either lack fluoride (Grants), are way overpriced (HiSmile, Marvis) or are a hassle to buy from somewhere other than a supermarket/involve third party sellers.

If there were basic fluoride cinnamon tubes at Colesworth though I’d probably give it a go.

Unflavoured toothpaste with fluoride would also be a good thing to have.

(Kids paste is milder but I think lower in fluoride and also not very appealing to me.)

I've learnt from years gone past, and went to sleep at 1:33. There's no better way to make me freak out then forgetting DST is happening and getting absorbed into a 20 minute YouTube video at 1:45 intending to sleep as soon as it finishes, and then it being 3:05!

On the plus side though, sunset is 7:30 tonight!

I think I'm going to need extra coffee to get through today. I feel like I lost an hour's sleep last night.

[-] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

I've been experimenting with dishwashing tablets for a while now and I'll tell you my favourite tip of all time. I place one on top of my drains and let it naturally dissolve. Reason for this is old drains can get a bit stinky over time and this is the most easiest why to solve this and also maintain fresh smelling drains.

I use solid tablets. I have never used the liquidy ones.
