A Lemmy Communtiy for using and making homebrew software. Homebrew is running unsigned or unofficial code on consumer devices.

Please state what console the post relates to, as an example "[Wii U] Title]", if your post isn't specific to a console please use "[General]".
Rule 2: Stay On-topic
This is a community based on installing homebrew on consoles or other consumer electronic devices, this is not a community for brewing alcoholic beverages at home, please use the search bar to find other such communities if that's what you are looking for (might link to some here in the future).
Rule 3: Be Civil
Please keep behavior here civilized,
Do not:
- Harass others
- Spread Bigotry of any kind
- Attack other people or groups
- Encourage others to attack others
Rule 4: No NSFW content
Please try to avoid posting any NSFW content on this community. If a Homebrew game or application contains NSFW content you may post about it but you must flair the post as NSFW.
Unflaired posts will be removed and users may be temporarily or permanently banned depending on Severity and Intent.
Rule 5: Piracy is allowed (Just no Direct links)
Piracy is allowed to be discussed here, though providing links is not allowed.

It's encouraged to post elsewhere for most piracy related posts, but we're still open to piracy related posts here, especially if Homebrew devs want to share piracy related tools.
[Important Note]: Anyone who complains about people talking about piracy, about piracy being wrong and illegal, about how piracy hurts the reputation of Homebrew, etc. to us will be banned from the community permanently with no recourse to appeal. Piracy is a core part of the Homebrew communtiy, and a key part of game and software preservation, piracy is intertwined in the Homebrew community, deal with it, people who Homebrew consoles to pirate games aren't "Abusing homebrew" they are within their right to do what they want with their own device.
Rule 6: No Malware or Harmful software
Do not post links to Malware or any software with the intent to cause harm to the user or their devices.
Examples include:
- Console Brickers
- Spyware
- Trojans
- Ransomware
- Adware
- Rootkits
- Keyloggers
- Pornware (NSFW disguised as SFW)
- Scareware
People who post links to content will be temporarily or permanently banned depending on severity and apparent intent. People encouraging Malware attacks will be permanently banned.
Please note that discussions about historical malware attacks or warnings about current malware attacks in the Homebrew Scene are okay under this rule.
Avoid discussions about Windows Malware, unless it's explicitly relevant to the Console Homebrew scene.
