from the article:

But as Trump stormed to victory last night, Lichtman's miscalculation was unavoidable.

'I'm not doing any interviews, I'm done,' he said.

What is hysterical is Silver was telling him he was wrong and his bias was showing. That is the problem is when you let you bias influence your model.

Silver said this was a toss up. Looking at the polls before the election I would agree. Based on the results, this was not a tossup. This was Trump crushing the democrats. I am still looking at number but he appears to have grown in every state.

Yeah, the landslide of Red, should definitely wake up a lot of democrats and Lemmy's. From a quote that was said on a newscast, about why he thinks Trump won by such a large margin:

“I’m interpreting the results tonight as revenge of just the regular old working-class American, the anonymous American who has been crushed, insulted, condescended to. They’re not garbage, they’re not Nazis. They’re just regular people who get up and go to work every day and are trying to make a better life for their kids, and they feel like they have been told to just shut up when they have complained about the things that are hurting them in their own lives.”

The average American isn't into gender or racial politics. They just want to raise their kids, have a vacation, etc. Most people are not overly political and when you make their life politics, they rebel
