[-] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world 10 points 2 hours ago

Hear FUCKING

HEAR!

[-] affiliate@lemmy.world 37 points 5 hours ago

what’s insane was that these could have been released earlier, but the house ethics committee has rules that stop negative reports from being released too close to an election. (source)

as if it might be a bad thing that someone doesn’t get re-elected because they were found to have done seriously unethical things.

$20 it was the intelligence departments. They ain't about to have someone they don't know everything about tell them what to do

[-] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Anonymous or the US intelligence agencies. No wonder the sick loser quit.

And yet, there will be no consequences and it will change nothing 🙁

[-] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 43 points 7 hours ago

Leak it for justice. The information should be public in a just society.

[-] hemmes@lemmy.world 16 points 4 hours ago

in a just society.

Player 3 has joined the game

[-] shalafi@lemmy.world 24 points 8 hours ago

Huh. So that's how Congress is leaking now. Suits me. Been waiting for years to see the evidence.

And BTW, now that the spoiled frat boy quit, who the hell is my Congressman?!

And BTW, now that the spoiled frat boy quit, who the hell is my Congressman?!

Could be you. Run for office.

[-] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world 7 points 2 hours ago

I second this!

I'M fucking considering at this point. The R's last few attempts where i live were the fucking weatherman and someone who's lived out of state since the 70's.

What's the worst that could happen, we win..?

[-] dezmd@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

NPR mentioned the interim appointment options from DeSantis today.

It includes Laura Trump on a shortlist.

And BTW, now that the spoiled frat boy quit, who the hell is my Congressman?!

vacant house seats are filled by special election unless there's not enough time to administer one before the next regular election.

[-] meco03211@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Except the next election already happened. He won. Won't he be able to just take his spot in the house in January (if the AG shit doesn't pan out)?

[-] bitchkat@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

He resigned from Congress.

[-] meco03211@lemmy.world 1 points 51 minutes ago

Yes. His current term would have ran until January. But he also ran for reelection and won. Did he say he wouldn't take his seat for the 2025-26 session when he resigned?

[-] bitchkat@lemmy.world 1 points 13 minutes ago

It might depend on that ethics report and how much he wants to keep it private.

[-] shalafi@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Huh. Haven't heard a word. But hell, I'll take anyone over Gaetz. I keep wanting to ask his supporters, "What exactly has he done for us? Other than make himself the laughing stock of Congress?"

He did have something great he was pushing for a minute. Something to do with childcare or maternity leave? Can't remember, but it was something the whole nation really needs. Got real quiet on it, real fast.

One smart thing he did was STFU before the original court case, which never got off the ground for lack of witnesses, and the before the House investigation. Gosh, the poor man just didn't have time between scandals to represent us! (Jesus. I just realized that's what his voters would actually say.)

In other Gaetz news, I snatch about a dozen yard signs after the election. Pro tip: Bend the wire legs into a U, hang on a rope between trees, receive perfect targets!

[-] kibiz0r@midwest.social 1 points 4 hours ago

You might be thinking of the bill he cosponsored with AOC, about banning members of Congress from trading stocks.

[-] Kalkaline@leminal.space 18 points 8 hours ago

Who would do such a thing to an individual of Gaetz's quality? I'd imagine there's a lot of people that would.

[-] Tramort@programming.dev 13 points 8 hours ago

According to a source familiar with the matter and an email viewed by CBS News, the person who gained access went by the name "Altam Beezley."

Classic altam!

Seems like people need to up their cybersecurity game.

[-] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 7 points 8 hours ago

In general yes, but in this particular case I think it's just about high enough.

[-] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 8 hours ago

Gaetz insisted on hiring a 17 year old to manage cybersecurity, what do you expect would happen.

[-] Biggles@lemmy.myserv.one 4 points 3 hours ago

I'd expect him to get high on molly and pay her for sex.

[-] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 hours ago
[-] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 6 points 7 hours ago

Leak it, share it, post it for wide availability.

[-] hddsx@lemmy.ca 5 points 8 hours ago

Can I authorize everyone in the country for access please
