The interface for launching games and the steam menu will be the same. You won't get any of the performance controls like fps cap/refresh rate/TDP. Suspend/sleep won't work with many games and many will crash or not run right after sleep unless you restart the game.
Right - so I might (and I say might) give up a couple of creature comforts; I never mess with the power settings, but I do like the suspend in the places that it works. Still, might be worth me not having to fight linux/proton for my fairly extensive non-steam windows library.
Yeah, that's how Big Picture works. The suspend on it is the same garbage Windows suspend. I don't use it on my Deck, but it is on my main rig.

These are not enforced, but they are encouraged.
