I feel like someone at FromSoft was playing a roguelike and it kinda caught on at the office and they were just like "Quick roguelike development, 1 year in and out" and then did that. This game seemed to come out of nowhere.

From the trailers it seems to be more like a Monster Hunter game than Elden Ring/Souls game.
