  • Brush: Yaqi 26mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Karve Overlander
  • Blade: Personna Platinum
  • Lather: Wholly Kaw - Nightcap - Soap
  • Post Shave: Wholly Kaw - Nightcap - Aftershave

Good shave. These blades are so hit or miss for me. It seems like every second one I pull out is super harsh or just not that sharp. I feel like I got a couple packs of lemons because my first experience with them was nothing but excellent.

Thirteenth Day of TabOKtoberfest - Belgian Travel Edition

  • Brush: Mühle Travel Brush
  • Razor: Dovo 41 Inox
  • Lather: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original Stick
  • Post Shave: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Fragrance: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original

Oops, a bit of a rough morning and a rough shave today. I met a few fun people at the conference I'm at and it earned me a bit of a hangover this morning. No nicks, but I did get irritation on my neck.

At least I smell great! Now off to find a large container of coffee

Stank ++;

I totally forgot it was Friday the 13th until just now. If any bad luck comes my way today at least I'll be well shaved and smelling good for it.

  • Brush: Wild West Brushworks Blue Space 26mm Cashmere
  • Razor: Ralf Aust 5/8 Stainless Full Hollow Spanish Point (Straight Shave 351)
  • Lather: Noble Otter - Monarch - Soap
  • Post Shave: Noble Otter - Monarch - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Thayers - Lavender - Toner

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

This was my first time using Monarch. Very nice! I get more of the lavender and powder off the soap and more of the French market vibe off of the aftershave. I'm traveling, so this is my travel setup for the weekend.

As suggested by @djundjila, I'm taking a stainless steel straight with me. Great idea! I put my second attempt at a Black Shadow edge on this razor and it turned out much better than the first. A very close and comfortable shave. Perhaps I can feel the difference between this edge, a Jnat edge, and a synthetic edge. I think I need more time with each at this sharpness level to describe it.

This is the last shave before the piggy returns home. A close and comfortable shave.

Have a good night!

Oct 13, 2023 - Fougère Friday: Blugère

  • Brush: Wald Shaving Nimbus Haunter 29mm A1 Knot
  • Razor: Blackland Razors Vector
  • Blade: Feather Artist Club Professional [4]
  • Lather: Catie's Bubbles - Blugère - Soap
  • Post Shave: Declaration Grooming - Opulence - Aftershave

Trying out some new hardware today. The pairing between Blugère and Opulence was not what I was expecting, but both great scents on their own.

Happy Friday!

  • Brush: Maggard 24mm Tuxedo Synthetic
  • Razor: Merkur Futur
  • Blade: V12 Super Platinum (4)
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - Waves of Grain - Soap
  • Post Shave: Barrister & Mann - Lyssa - Aftershave

Waves of Grain smells nothing like grain... But it's a really pretty good floral that doesn't smell too flowery.
