In case anyone wanted the non-beta or couldn’t get in because TestFlight was full, this just popped in about an hour ago.

Congratulations to the dev team!

Hey all. Replying from .world since...well you guys know.

Anyway, thank you for all your support over the past weeks. It's helped us get to this point.

A word of caution: The build that was released is slightly outdated and there are a few issues that have already been addressed in that build. Unfortunately because you can't replace the build in review, we were not able to update it as we went through this nearly week-long back and forth with Apple. It required an appeal to get us onto the store.

With that said, I'll be releasing the final version of 0.0.2 tonight to TestFlight, and will begin build versioning starting at 0.1.0, which will be the next release on the store. I'll try and have something submitted to them tonight and hopefully it will be reviewed and released within a day or so.

Cheers!

You’re awesome, and I hope you sleep at some point, haha.

Replying from Memmy beta, love it, thanks for all your hard work!

[-] tryagain@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago

I don't even own an iOS device but I'm delighted that you and so many other devs have gone so hard at putting different apps out there.

They may not all take off, and users will likely graduate to a handful because of power laws and whatnot but that doesn't matter right now: you guys are shipping and you're giving us options. You all rock!

Just downloaded and wrote a nice review. Really appreciate the effort it must have taken to get this live so fast. App seems awesome so far!!!

[-] BlueDepth9279@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Congrats on the milestone! I’ve been using Memmy for a few weeks now and the progress has been staggering. It’s definitely my go to lemmy app.

[-] ndx@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Any say to magnify font or change a bit layout? Feels cramped on an iPhone mini

[-] gkd@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

There are some options for font size, font weight, etc. inside of the settings.

Replying with the Memmy for Lemmy iOS app. It seems to work fine.

I’ve been beta testing since day one - which was only 22 days ago. It’s amazing how great this app has gotten in such a short time.

[-] TeamAssimilation@infosec.pub 23 points 1 year ago

I entered the TestFlight of Memmy, Mlem, Thunder and Liftoff!, and Memmy impressed me with the speed of development, stability, and feature addition. I love it.

Mlem is a close second, but it lacks QOL details that Memmy got right from the start. The other two are still at alpha level, but all of them are improving steadily.

The Fediverse, its ecosystem, and the passion developers and admins pour into it, it feels like an alternate Internet reality, but a better reality for a change.

[-] michikade@lemm.ee 13 points 1 year ago

I’ve also tried several betas and Memmy has been my personal favorite since nearly day one (first build didn’t have dark mode, haha, but like 12 hours later there was a second build with dark mode and I’ve been here ever since). And the devs are amazing.

This is an exciting time. I know the fediverse has been around for a while but it still feels like getting on the ground floor of something both brand new and also harkening back to the old internet. It’s awesome.

Hey, there’s a username I recognize. Beta tester since day one for me too. I agree, the growth this app has seen is incredible

Already was using it in TestFlight, but needed to download it to rate it in the App Store.

[-] Bushwhack@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Same. This is the way.

[-] sudo_shinespark@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago

This one’s been the best of the iOS clients I’ve seen with wefwef coming in distant second. Excited that it’s officially released now. Congrats to Gavin and all his hard work!

In case anyone didn’t see — the App Store version is slightly outdated from the current version in TestFlight. The dev (Gavin) posted about it a little while ago on this same thread

I’m probably going to hold off ‘til he gives the all clear on TestFlight but still exciting

[-] BravoVictor@programming.dev 15 points 1 year ago

Oh hell yeah! I’ve been beta testing it. May grab the non-beta just to rate it like others.

Well done!

All credit to @gkd@lemmy.ml and the rest of the team whose Lemmy names I don’t know haha

[-] PineapplePartisan@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Nice. I’ve been trying all the TestFlight apps and Memmy is my favorite. Going to download the official app now.

[-] PineapplePartisan@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Woot! On official.

[-] lockedcasket@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Wow this is fantastic! Reminds of Apollo so much; great job devs!

[-] michikade@lemm.ee 8 points 1 year ago

Yep. Fully open source on GitHub.

[-] SharpMaxwell@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

guess im gonna stop using wefwef now

[-] corky@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

This is so freaking cool. Like many others, I’ve been testing Mlem, Memmy, Liftoff, and Thunder as well as Wefwef and honestly they are all great. I definately have gravitated to Memmy the most because of the speed of bug fixes and communication the dev has.

Just commenting to leave my appreciation for the devs.

The experience on the app so far has been working perfectly and helpful for me to enter into lemmy as a new user.

[-] KuroJ@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Been beta testing this from the beginning. Just downloaded from the App Store to leave a review. Congrats and great job by the Memmy team!

[-] GenBlob@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Thank you! I did not expect a lemmy app to be on the app store that fast!

[-] Roggie@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 year ago

I have been using Mlem, but this post encouraged me to try out Memmy, liking it so far but I can’t figure out how to reply to comments. Can anyone help me? I’m on IOS

[-] michikade@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Swipe commands. Right to left short swipe is comment.

Left to right short swipe is upvote, long swipe is downvote.

I’ve only been around Lemmy for a few days — and Memmy for less obviously, but the TestFlights I’ve seen, this is the most polished and has helped me feel most at home moving from Reddit. Well done. 👏🏼

[-] Jackolantern@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Hey thanks for the update mate. Memmy is my go to app for lemmy and the changes since the first beta to the release now is staggering. Looking forward to more updates!

You rock!

[-] restarossa@infosec.pub 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Open source, excellent. Well done devs. Would be a bit rude to make a closed source app for this open source platform, wouldn't it.

[-] wavymoney@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Using Memmy for the first time on this post (too late to get in the beta) and it’s a great experience so far! I love that the markdown options are built-in like Apollo had, the UI is elegant and easy to use, and smooth!

[-] Tommy_the_Gun@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Trying it now. Great job!

[-] Tandybaum@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Is it kosher to give some suggestions here? It would be really nice to have an account switcher option. I have my main account but I’d like to quick every now and again.

[-] michikade@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

I’m not a dev but there is a quick account switcher, just add in your accounts through settings and top center can switch accounts on the fly. I have 2 accounts and switch between the two when one instance is hiccuping. I know some others have a SFW and NSFW profile, haha.

The only reason I’m on Lemmy is because of this app. Made creating an account so easy and viewing feeds super simple. Thanks and look forward for the updates.

[-] jerd@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

An open source app with a modern UI that got developed in blazing fast speeds? Sign me up. Keep up the great work folks!
