Just downloaded the new app for Android (I feel like I came home after a long and tiring trip). And I like to read a thing then swipe the card to hide it. My only issue is when I close the app and come back in, the stuff I hid is visible again.

Is this a setting I missed? Or an actual bug?

I believe it's a bug. I'm having the same issue. Hidden posts sometimes reappear even if I don't close the app.

I have the same flow as you. You can set the FAB (floating action button to hide read posts).

Ah, actually this then only hides posts that have been opened. Sorry.

There's an additional option to mark posts as read on scroll

Yeah, but unfortunately swiping to hide doesn't mark the posts as read.

Well, I'm glad this isn't some setting I missed. I thought I was going crazy.

I'm guessing it's because lemmy afaik doesn't actually have any support for post hiding, so Sync is just putting it off to one side out of view, but then that's not saved for when you reload the app. Hopefully we can get proper post hiding (or at least a workaround) soon, I browse the same way you do

Interesting, I didn't realize that. Connect manages it so-so. Part of the reason I went there post-exodus pre-Sync

Same here. I changed my lemmy settings in a browser to hide read posts but hidden posts are forgotten on reload. Probably just a bug I'm thinking.
