Basically the gist of it, I'd like to switch to an unflavored protein supplement. Any recommendations or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I think it is important to know where you are from. If in EU, I recommend HSN, namely the pea protein powder (or soy protein). From an hypertrophy stand-point, they are as good as whey protein (there are randomized controlled trials showing this). They are also much cheaper and environmentally friendly. Though I never tried unflavored!

Interesting! Do you have a source for that?

I've been using an eu based mix of organic pea, rice, and hemp protein. Blandest thing I've ever had, but gets the job done. I'd recommend a brand, but you can find it from a bunch of different sellers, always selling the same mix in a brown bag, just with a different label on it.

In the na, my my favorite was sun worrier. Good vegan mix, good results.

Good old whey protein isolate is your best bet

It comes down to a few factors, only you can decide which are important to you:

  • Completeness (amino acid profile)
  • Palatability (including texture/dissolvability)
  • Tolerability (stomach upset/flatulences)
  • Price
  • Moral/Environmental concerns (packaging, freight length, plant based vs animal based,…)

No easy best for you answer anyone could give, really. Personally, I have a very robust stomach and I don't have financial troubles, so I primarily go by taste and moral concerns.
