@writingprompts Okay, so I did a semi-deep dive into this, and it seems like this is not a Chick Tract (different art style anyway), but from something called the "Truth for Youth Bible", however not the current one (which can be found here: https://revivalfires.org/ and is - compared to this - incredibly boring) but likely the third edition with entirely different illustrations. (see: https://x.com/abtnatural/status/1222721453373755394?lang=ar )
I am still trying to find a good scan of the whole thing. So far no luck, though.
I'm missing a few points about this from my cultural perspective: is this supposed to be an illustration of the 'bad' people?
@bazzzzzzz It's an illustration of everything Christian extremists in the late 90's / early 2000's were afraid of: Tattoos, gangs in school, facial piercings, short hair on girls, short sleeves on girls, teenage sex, drugs and evolution ("my ancestor").
Thanks, those were the things that were completely normal to me in the 90s in my environment...so I couldn't understand that any of that would wave been horrible to anyone else.
