This. You have to separate "work and play" so to speak otherwise you have to see all kinds of things you don't care for all the time.

Thanks! Should I start a git issue? If mean people follow mods into subs they should be banned not have their comments hidden.

Maybe prevent blocks from being applied in communities one mods in.

This would make the most sense to me. Or create a separate interface for mods of communities, where they can know if someone on their block list has posted and can choose to view it.

This is my #1 long-running frustration with Lemmy, and what you've suggested would be the solution. In the software's innards, personal blocks should be ignored in the communities a user mods.

I don't want to bother with creating an alt, then switching back and forth several times daily, which means ... I can't block anyone.

Idk if this is still possible but 2 years ago I was blocked by a person that I was trying to mod and so the only thing I could do was deleting the whole convo+post lol (obviously they went on mastodon to shit-talk the whole server)
