The poor girl on the photo, I am assuming she has nothing to do with the scam.

[โ€“] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No scammer uses their own pic that's why when they got punked every one can get behind it it

They can already generate fake faces using AI: thispersondoesnotexist.com

Nah, a real person gives more charm to it! /s

I kinda feel this is wrong. I very much think that Nicole is a stolen picture of a real person. Or even worse, it might be a harassment technique against a real person.

Why do you hate organic fedi culture?!

[โ€“] schnurrito@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

No idea what "organic fedi culture" is supposed to be... but are we, in the future, going to create communities to track everyone who sends a lot of unsolicited messages?

The concept of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Deny_recognition applies to all online spaces, I can't believe I have to point that out in 2025...

I think it's more of a running joke at this point. At this rate we'll ALL be messaged by "her". Plus the more we talk about it in these spaces, the less efficient the "scam" (?) is...
