just unplug it, you'll have a beautiful paperweight with no echoing feature

Every Echo is now an espionage device against everyone who utters what Bezos’ AI thinks is the wrong words. Throw it all out NOW.

Those things have never been allowed in my home and never will

They legally shouldn't be allowed in any home. They were a general attack vector, and are now a fascist attack vector. Either the hardware and software is FOSS, or GTFO. If you can't survive with competition, without holding a gun to your customers heads, throwing up artificial barriers and holding their data hostage, and they can't leave you easily the moment they no longer want anything to do with you (regardless of the reason), you don't deserve customers. You don't deserve to waste our planets resources on your narcissism. Period.

Every product needs to be reigned in, including government services which mostly rely on proprietary foreign tech, otherwise we're all going to end up in a fascist black mirror hellscape.

Funny how capitalists make people blame everything except capitalism itself

Is the new Alexa+ required to be used going forward? Or can you stay on the local-only setup for controlling home automation and simple things like timers and such?
