Can I suddenly be a Star Trek fan?
Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, so I would do okay, depending on the tribe I lived with and staying away from killer robots.
Pokemon fans can go to dog fighting to understand why they might not be as happy as they think. Also imagine that some of the dogs can electrocute, burn and drown other dogs. Also, sometimes they put a chihuahua against a great dane.
I'll just pick a light-hearted high fantasy setting with casual reality warping...

There probably are, but a lot of the big ones pulled the plug due to some very unwanted side effects.
Fallout is shitty but doable, I like the idea of rebuilding society and I like the technology.
That said, with he new show lore, if VaultTec is able to just keep nuking things that sprout up then ig it's pointless.
Star Trek? Hell yeah. The Borg might be a small problem and the Klingon, but no cooking, no cleaning, no need for money.

Ever present terrorism, most towns don’t have food
Animal attacks are more common and dangerous
That doesn't sound that bad
If you take them at face value and not as a gamified abstraction, sure. "Pallet Town" having three buildings is unlivable but it isn't shown that way in non-game media.
The organized crime is rough but that usually gets sorted out by a child at some point so just keep your head down.
