SNW: Ad astra per aspera
Star Trek
Welcome to a Star Trek community where you’re free to chat and share your opinions about all things Trek!
I want to have a place where fans can come to praise, discuss, and even criticise things in the Star Trek franchise. No show or movie is perfect, and I don't believe people should be silenced for having a dissenting opinion. That being said, there are still a few rules.
Be Nice - No personal attacks. You can disagree with someone's opinion, but it needs to stop there.
No Slurs - This is applicable to ethnicity, religion, gender, or anything else.
No Adult Content - Keep it family friendly.
No Spamming or Trolling - Consistently spamming comments or trolling is just not needed.
Please keep topics Trek related or Trek adjacent for the most part, and have fun!
I was wondering if we would get any recent episodes on the list! It was a good episode.
You can't forget TNG 5x2 Darmok. I wish the universal translator didn't work seamlessly all the time.
One of my favorites. Essence of Trek, I think.
It certainly was an intriguing concept, it would be interesting if there were more episodes like that. Something along the lines of the movie Arrival maybe.
TNG s5e25 "The Inner Light"
That was definitely a good episode! I'm doing a TNG rewatch, and I actually watched that episode yesterday.
TNG 2x9: The Measure of a Man has been my favorite for many years.
I remember it being one of the first episodes to catch my attention when I first watched TNG years ago!
I found "The Enemy" to be a wonderful episode. I liked the egg LaForge and Bachra became something like friends. Also, I have a soft spot for the Romulans. Beautiful ships, and we share a tendency to lurk.
My only disappointment with the whole episode was Picard not taking the opportunity to thank Bachra for helping save Geordie.
I do remember that being a good episode. I like the Romulan ships too, the D'deridex is my favorite non Starfleet ship.
Probably my favorite ship in any universe, from the outside at least. Galaxy class my second.
I've always been partial to the Constitution, preferably the TOS but also the SNW version. The Ambassador is another, and I also like the Crossfield other than the spinning saucer and ultra long naceles!
I've always been partial to the Miranda, as well.
That is a good ship! They were in service for quite a long time, I'm assuming with major systems upgrades like the B-52 has gotten. It's very impressive that the Miranda was in service from the original NCC-1701 clear up to the Enterprise-E at least! Obviously they had no chance of keeping up with the top of the line ships at that point, but in universe they must have been a very solid platform for upgrades.
Right, and not every ship needs to be a battleship. Pirate patrol, coast guard, courier, general exploration and poking at things. All incredibly valuable roles that can be handed with sensor and engine upgrades.
Exactly! The smaller ship and crew complement is great for that.
