At least for me that doesn't matter. Season 2 is been pretty disappointing for me..the story does not develop at all..It seems they wanted to make a 5 season series but had no idea what to explore in the second season..losing interest
After watching two video deep dives on GRRM and Patrick Rothfuss' writing progress, this does not reassure me at all
You know, you're allowed to check calendar dates and compare them without watching 4 hours of YouTube
Yeah but then I wouldn't have seen them cross reference Wordcount updates in blogs proving they haven't written anything in a decade!

The Prisoner is arguably the grandfather of like 90% of modern television, not just Severance. Phenomenal show
Imagine a time before tv shows had antiescape spheres. How did writers get by. :)

I actually wish they'd left a reason, it might have been an interesting discussion.
It's probably a twin peaks fan
That actually got a laugh out loud.
Take these suggestions.
"Night's Master" by Tanith Lee. Back in the time when the Earth was still flat, a demon prince used to ride the skies nightly, looking for humans to seduce and/or torment.
"Dark Voyage" by Alan Furst. In 1941 a Dutch sea captain is seconded to the British Navy. His freighter and its motley crew are going to transport spies into enemy ports, disguised as a neutral ship.

Am curious as a fan of both series, is there a beef between The Prisoner and Twin Peaks? I couldn't imagine a fan of one not loving the other
I don't think it's beef, so much as the Prisoner is less popular and most people are exposed to Twin Peaks by a friend or podcaster who says 'This is the show responsible for modern television like x-files, sopranos, and breaking bad' - which the downvoted comment contradicts.

I'm watching season 2 right now. It's pretty good. I'm always happy when Stiller does good stuff.
And it's not funny, on brand for Stiller, albeit on purpose this time.

I've actually met his parents. They were sweet and funny. But yeah that comedy zinger was great lol
So it's only going to take 2 and a half years 😭
Netflix did a fantastic reboot of "Lost In Space." They started in 2018 and lost a lot of time to Covid. They leaned into it and set the last season ten years after the end of the second.
To get the full experience, watch the 1960's pilot first, because the creators managed to take everything that was silly in the original and make it smart. Also, Parker Posey is a fantastic psycho baddie.
