Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules

Rule 1- No brigading.

**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.

Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

I said nothing at all that would be seen as a threat. All I did was share the article. I’m so glad I found this place. Reddit is trash.

“It’s like you’re out of jail, but you’re still in jail,” Biggs says, speaking about his feelings after being released. “Now I’m more of a burden on my family. I’m not bringing anything to the table.”

wow almost like he understands what millions of people go through every day because they had drug possession ten years ago and are caught in the parole-recidivism cycle

No but those are the REAL criminals, see? He was just being a PATRIOT! /s

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago

Now they’ve accepted my appeal. 🙄

No don't hurt me!

[–] PeripheralGhost@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I deleted my reddit account and fully moved here. Also giving mastodon a try, though I never got into Twitter.

[–] 3dmvr@lemm.ee 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

Bluesky is becoming a Nazi hellhole like Twitter? 😢

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 1 points 38 minutes ago

From my experience, yeah. Left wingers are very soon tagged as spam and your comments and stuff are hidden. There's no way to dispute it, they just ignored me.

[–] Bishopfrog@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago

From my experience, far from it.

I’m dipping my toes in Lemmy and Mastodon, and they’re both awesome so far. I’ll just let my Reddit account wither away. 🤷🏽‍♀️

reporting right wing and russian trolls also gets your banned too most of the time.

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 3 points 20 hours ago

That is so lame.

[–] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 12 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Wow yeah nothing violent in sharing that article (which was a good read btw).

I havn't been on reddit since july 2023, and yeah it seems like it's gotten even worse since then.

Welcome tb the the fediverse!

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 6 points 22 hours ago

"He went to jail for Trump, was forgotten by Trump, but still believes in him."

Jesus Lmao

[–] oleorun@real.lemmy.fan 13 points 23 hours ago

This dude would have burned at Waco given the right set of circumstances

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 5 points 23 hours ago

A lost cause. And they expect me to feel sorry for them hahahahaHAAAAAHHH.

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 14 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Welcome! Need any help navigating Lemmy and the fediverse?

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 8 points 20 hours ago (3 children)

I’d love to know more about the Fediverse! Particularly an alternative to LinkedIn. What do you think of Friendica?

[–] socsa@piefed.social 10 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

The alternative to LinkedIn is not using it because you are not a degenerate.

[–] Confused_Emus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 8 hours ago

I swear LinkedIn is just a massive circle jerk for HR goons.

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 4 points 8 hours ago

That’s for damn sure. I should look for a LinkedIn Lunatics community here. lol

[–] CrackedLinuxISO@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a LinkedIn alternative. It's too business-oriented for anyone to care that it's under corporate control. In some sense, that's the whole point.

My understanding of Friendica is that it's supposed to fill a niche similar to Facebook. I've never used it though.

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

Thanks for replying! I guess I can trudge through Indeed. LinkedIn makes me sick.

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 5 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I have no experience with either I'm afraid.

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Anything you have to share about Lemmy or the Fediverse is much appreciated! ☺️

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 3 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (1 children)

Best place to find communities your instance may not already know about is this site

(remote communities only federate over once a user subscribes)

Make sure to have both English and Undefined selected in your profile settings (next release should fix this)

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Thank you!! Much obliged ☺️

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 2 points 8 hours ago

There's definitely more I've accumulated over the past couple years but those two come to mind first. There is also a tool that automates the new community federation process here if your admins participate.

Feel free to reach out in the future if there's anything else I could clear up.
