This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.

Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.

It would have been better to use this link. It contains their username and looks way less fishy: https://www.youtube.com/@americanmedicalassociation/videos

It's also linked from their main page (see YouTube link at the bottom): https://www.ama-assn.org/

Indeed. I've updated the post links. Thanks!

But is that true? Anyone got a source?

Time for the rest of the world to forbid all travel in and out of the US. They made their bed, let them lie in it.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

We did not make our bed. President fat fuck won by barely 1% of the vote.

Whilst I sympathise with you and the millions that didn't vote for him, you can't blame him for the millions that decided that vaccinations are a dumb thing that shouldn't be accepted.

This is feeling like "Covid 2" all of a sudden. Good luck over there, your country is going through a massive change, and it doesn't feel like a good one. Peace and love from Australia.

Actually you can, Trump went hard on antivax conspiracy in his first term and planted the seeds for what we have today. Remember, his brilliant solution was to instead drink bleach. And sunbathe your taint or whatever.

Ok fair enough you do have a point. However, surely we can't blame one cock head for making 74 million people cock heads.

[–] monarch@lemm.ee 4 points 21 hours ago

No you can't and I can't act like I don't blame them too but this was an organized destruction of the country that has been happening for longer than I have been alive. The gutting of the department of education didn't start here and they knew what they were doing.

I blame the voters but even more I blame the people in power for letting it happen I blame SCOTUS for becoming partisan I blame the military leaders for not following the contract they signed that placed the constitution over all.

You can to an extent. Misinformation (e.g. the shit antivaxxers believe) can be prevented by providing quality education to the masses, but that has been diminished by the right for years now, and recently by Trump in particular with his drive to eliminate the Department of Education.

It could also be addressed by restricting the spread of misinformation through broadcast and social media, but surprise, those platforms are all controlled by the right as well—even directly tied to the current admin like Xitter or Trump's own Truth Social.

Doesn't mean you've got to trap good folks here

[–] Sir_Kevin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 day ago

I mean, he literally said the election was rigged. Twice! So I'm not even sure he won by any measure.

[–] SolacefromSilence@fedia.io 17 points 1 day ago (4 children)

I looked at the link, but didn't see daily updates.

[–] derek@infosec.pub 13 points 1 day ago

They aren't daily updates. They are weekly. The program is called "AMA Update: Public Health Insights". I don't know why the OP is an imagine or why the info isn't accurate but the sentiment rings true.

Here's a link to the playlist containing all the videos published so far: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7ZHBCvG4qsdahOWgVvBlJdK1qe-j3LZw

My bad, I assumed it was accurate when I saw it elsewhere.

Surely they will update as needed. It's always good to have alternate sources of information.

[–] Technoworcester@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

Yeah. I call bullshit on this. I cant see a daily upload unless I'm missing an obvious.
