Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

IN A MONTH.

4 years of months left to go.

Maybe next time people can get off their fat fucking asses and vote. Or, if you did vote, maybe vote more intelligently next go around.

If we’re even allowed to vote ever again.

It'll be allowed, but they've just got to make sure only the "right people" get counted.

This needs to be bigger news on the mainstream channels, but you know it wont be.

I'm so tired of this shit.

He also lost nearly a trillion dollars for Tesla. Tells the Tesla employees to keep their stock, hinting at how great things are and how much better they will be soon, and then the entire c-suite sells off around a hundred million in stock...

Elmo really is the best of all humans... At evaporating the wealth of others

I've said this for nearly s decade now, Elmo is a lyoni scammer who got lucky, that is all

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

“He got lucky” is another way to also say that, as terrible as he is at everything he does, including hiding it, the people who give him literally anything are always clamouring to prove just how stupid they can be by simping for him at every turn.

They're very efficient at destroying the country.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

Lets see how long it takes them to turn US Treasury Bonds from their AAA+++ (or whatever) status down to D.

[–] CherryBullets@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 days ago

"Lost"... yeah, "lost" it in their bank account.

Tomorrow: IRS has been fired.

[–] Freshparsnip@lemm.ee 7 points 6 days ago

No because IRS is helping capture immigrants

[–] Demdaru@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Fired? Sued for hurting Musky feelings.

[–] Mr_Dr_Oink@lemmy.world 19 points 6 days ago

This was always the plan.

[–] karl_chungus@lemm.ee 14 points 6 days ago

Hmm, I wonder where it went /s

[–] Pax@lemmy.ca 13 points 6 days ago

Correction - they efficiently lost half a trillion dollars for the USA

[–] Viskio_Neta_Kafo@lemm.ee 15 points 6 days ago (2 children)

They all need to be jailed.

[–] Guns0rWeD13@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

i don't see any point to keeping these people alive.

[–] Viskio_Neta_Kafo@lemm.ee 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

At least with musk himself it would be grand to see him spend his life in a padded cell with nothing to do and bland food.

[–] Guns0rWeD13@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago (1 children)

i'm not interested in punishment. only solutions.

[–] Viskio_Neta_Kafo@lemm.ee 3 points 6 days ago

I'm for both to be honest.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Hanged by their bootstraps

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 5 points 5 days ago

But it made Elon money and broke shit, so it served it's unstated purpose.

[–] BigMacHole@lemm.ee 3 points 5 days ago

STUPID Libtards thought DOGE would NOT be Efficient! They lost $500BILLION in ONLY a couple months! THATS efficiency!

[–] MisterOwl@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

It ain't fucking lost, it's being re-distributed.

How much did they allegedly “save”…when corrected for their basic mathematical errors?
