This comic is out of touch with the politics of Netflix style script writing where there's no story arc being followed.

I just meant that America feeling like the center of the world's criticisms isn't the same as them being the center of the world's criticisms.

Really the rest of the world has said they're the worst during the Iraq invasion and subsequent tortures, and then there was a big gap, and now that same sentiment of "America is doing the worst thing right now" has only just been coming back recently (with the rise of Trumpian Fascism).

...so it's mostly when America shows its fascism that the world makes this complaint. Bush and Trump were both unprecedentedly bad times, and both on the right Republican side. The world had a point both times.

....but generally the rest of the world is off doing its own bad things, with huge gaps between saying America is doing "the worst thing right now".

Not really.

Oh yeah, Americans don't have good public transport. So they don't understand that as a place to read.

Unless you have had three independent data recovery companies confirm the data can't be recovered - I'm not buying it.

For the software erase it says:

Even if power is interrupted during the data wiping process, the drive will automatically resume clearing data the next time it gets power, says Team Group.

We aren’t sure of the wiping algorithm or tech, so we would assume there remains a chance of data recovery after this software-powered wipe, or partial wipe.

For the hardware erase, it says recovery might be more effort than it's worth. So sounds like neither mode gets proven results.

It's essentially a dangerous scam.

Yeah, it's the kind of thing a country doesn't come back from without a radical reformation.

I think by saying it, it causes it, and leads everyone to pay attention.

These people have no idea where on Trump/Suzie Wiles rank they are.

Dan would have been down the bottom somewhere.

Wikipedia was The Encyclopedia Brittanica, and you bought a set of them, and the book shelf they were on, from the TV.

Part of why the economy still worked, people still needed physical things.

Trump is one of the people currently claiming there's a "white genocide" in SA.

That would upset the status quo power relations which both parties serve...

...and yet Trump has been elected exactly because people are upset with the status quo power relations in politics.

So it's a question of whether Trump and his team are true believers in upsetting the system, or whether they were doing it all for the pay day from the same groups/people who the political economy always serves.

Currently if I paste a link to a Lemmy.World post on reddit, the user is taken to the comments section - and the image post (eg. the point of the actual link), is a tiny thumbnail.

This is now how to get people to cross over to Lemmy and other federated services.

The sidebar should be behind a link or tab.

We desperately need a "disable inbox replies" feature, or at least a place we can turn ALL notifications off.

The "search -> for communities" drop down, should just take you to the communities list (which has a search bar, and actual links to the communities, rather than a directory of them).

Does anyone have any more they'd like to list in the comments?

Does Friendica for instances, have something like Facebook Messenger going on? What would be the best for real time communication on both phone and desktop?
