What is enshittification?

The phenomenon of online platforms gradually degrading the quality of their services, often by promoting advertisements and sponsored content, in order to increase profits. (Cory Doctorow, 2022, extracted from Wikitionary) source

The lifecycle of Big Internet

We discuss how predatory big tech platforms live and die by luring people in and then decaying for profit.

Embrace, extend and extinguish

We also discuss how naturally open technologies like the Fediverse can be susceptible to corporate takeovers, rugpulls and subsequent enshittification.

They heard customers say they needed the vacuum to suck more, and they delivered the only way they knew how...

No thank you. I don't even make calls on my phone. I'm not paying a subscription to send data about my habits to Samsung.

Must be a pretty small segment of the market that wants this much technology in a vacuum but won't just buy a Roomba

Let me stand in front of the loud washing machine and make a few phone calls. I do kinda like the idea of a Washer/Dryer in one unit, thats sorta cool, but then they throw all this other useless stuff on it so they can charge more for it.
